Weld Project Connect

October 2011

United Way helped to organize a program entitled Weld Project Connect - Neighbors Helping Neighbors. I served as part of a team of 600 volunteers. This event centralized the location of over 50 services at no cost for low-income individuals in the community.  I worked directly with clients from when they first arrived until they ready to leave. Initially, I helped my clients fill out a questionnaire to get an idea what services they needed. This involved connecting with clients on a very personal level while showing empathy and compassion. I then helped navigate them to the proper locations while supporting them throughout the day. I helped provide them with assistance to medical, nutritional, health, housing and law services to promote their well being.
